Following along the trend lately, I have decided to kill this journal.  It's not quite what I wanted.

However, I have not left livejournal completely.  I'm starting anew with a friends only journal that can be found at [info]gerlnosebroke.  Please add me there if you'd like to continue on with the profound one sentance enteries.

Sorry to everyone who won't be able to read my new one.

Gabe is making me breakfast and he replaced my yellow purse.

He's such a wonderful boyfriend.

3/20/06 07:14 pm - Look at me, I'm super cryptic!

Boo Myspace. And its ability to ressurect old problems.

i've got a phone again, so my number should be working now. in case you were wondering. yep.

3/7/06 09:29 pm

My sister is adorable.

3/5/06 11:48 pm

Well, to put this blunty...I was mugged today.

So, if you've tried calling my phone and it said the number has been disconnected, it's because my phone was in the beautiful beautiful yellow purse that is now gone forever. I should have a replacement phone in a couple of days with the same number.

Oh, and Allie, if you read this before I get to talk to you, my keys were also in the purse, so we're going to have to have another lock change. Hopefully it won't conflict with you getting back and being able to get inside the room.

So I'm going on a hiatus from my hiatus (which was the entire Thoreau reference for those of you who didn't get it...) to tell you about a dream I had involving Richard Sales.

So in the dream, right, he totally won president, right, and I wasn't happy because he looked like the kid Gerald from Wallace and Ladmo (R.I.P and btdub, I was so on that show) except with black hair instead of blonde. Here are pictures.

and

And the reason it really bothered me was because that picture of Richard was on the front page of the State Press everyday.

Actually, I think I'm going to have a poll.  Based on pictures of the candidates with Gerald styled hair, who would you vote for?

Matt Kenney

Ross Meyer
Richard Sales

and
Brad Smith

Sorry if they're tiny, but you'll have to deal.  I can always make these into livejournal icons.  OH FUN!

Ok, so based on the Gerald Haircut, I think sadly I'd have to vote for Richard.

2/14/06 12:51 am

Do you remember the old days when my livejournal entries used to be entertaining and interesting? I do. Here's an attempt to regain the glory of my "I have mono so I have nothing better to do than plan out witty entries all day" livejournal. It should work, since I'm avoiding writing a paper, which is usually when all my creativity flows into this thing instead of into my four page discussion of the shortcomings of assimilation theories when dealing with refugee groups. So here goes my noble attempt.

This weekend we had the YDAz convention and I have to say, it's making me rethink my involvement in the organization. While it is true that I enjoy working on political campaigns and in the political arena as a whole, I'm not sure I want to be doing it with an organization that can magically transform into arrogant assholes whenever there is the slightest resemblance of a Maricopa County v. Pima County butting of the heads. The elections were ridiculous, from the immature and insulting questions of ranking members of the ASUYDs to the circus that ensued during elections of Sgt. at Arms. I was about ready to walk out or cry. Or both. I just feel that it's time for me to get my head out of my ass and do something political in the area I'm going into, like say Students for Cleaner Energy and/or Mark Manoil' campaign.

In fact, it's time for me to get my head out of my ass generally. I got a letter today from the school telling me that with the amount of credits I have, I'll have to declare a major if I want to register for next semester. I need to just buckle down and pick geography, realize that it may not be what I really have a passion for, but is finance the passion of every finance major? Is biology the passion of every biology major? I guess it's just apart of becoming an adult, a transition that I'm really hesitant to make.

More on the note of school, when I woke up at 11am today, the following tasks were on my list of things to accomplish:

Finish Social Psych study guide
Finish Social Psych reading
Finish Human Sexual Behavior reading
Pick Human Sexual Behavior extra credit topic
Write Social Geo Paper
Finish French Lab
Finish French homework

And I finished all but my paper and my lab, but my lab isn't due until 7 pm tomorrow and my paper is due by 3pm, so I'm ok with that. Plus all I really have to do is critique three French films. It'll be easy enough to finish up. But yes, I think I had a rather productive day. After tomorrow, this week should cool down a lot. Which will be amazing, as will going home for the weekend mainly to watch the Olympics in HD as opposed to checking Kevin's away message to get curling updates.

Alright, maybe I should attempt to get this paper done before 3 am. Here's to another Dr. Pepper!

2/12/06 10:58 pm - second post in a day. fuck.

Ok, so today, there are about five concerts that have popped up out of nowhere that I'd like to show my pretty little face at.  They are as follows:

march 21 @ solar culture gallery
clap your hands say yeah!

march 21@ mesa ampitheatre

Hi. This update is for Meredith.

I really like coach bags. And I really don't like...that other thing.

I'm so fucking bored. I'm waiting for Gabe to wake up and for the Super Bowl to start. Go Steelers!

Love,
Maura

My mum just made me send her a couple pictures of this boy in one of my classes because I told her he looked like Johnny Depp. So I took some off of facebook, saved them to my desktop, and e-mailed them to her. I feel creepy.

Also, I got my social geo paper back. And for writing it while in tears, having a nervous breakdown at 4 in the am, I'd say an A- isn't a bad grade at all.

If I never heard another love song, I think I'd be ok with it.

In fact, if I never heard another song again, I think I'd be ok with it.

Hey kids.

Today was pretty amazing.

For the most part.

Man, I really wish Sara was online right now.

Alright, that is all.

I highly suggest that you read, if you haven't already, Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich.  Deceptive as it is, it proves to be very insightful when dealing with the failure of charities for the poor in the US.
